Pasta Museum

The Museum is located in the medieval Corte di Giarola. Each of the ten sections of the museum illustrates the historic, technological, and cultural knowledge of pasta. The first section is dedicated to wheat, its characteristics and methods of cultivation, presenting antique agricultural equipment that testify to the evolution of agricultural technology. The second section is dedicated to milling, with the reconstruction of the grist mill and a modern cylinder mill. The home-made preparation of fresh pasta is illustrated in the fourth section. An actual industrial pasta factory from the early 1800s in the fifth section enables visitors to understand the production process of dry pasta. Finally, the “dies” illustrate the formation of more than one-hundred different types of pasta.
