Super zampone - Largest Zampone in the World Festival
The Superzampone is a huge sausage prepared by masters of cured meats from Castelnuovo Rangone in the province of Modena, who work for free to prepare and offer this delicious product to thousands of people on the first Sunday of December.
The zampone is cooked in the main square inside a big stainless steel zamponiera (zampone pot): the preparation lasts about three days and the weight of the sausage increases every year.
The Festival is organized by the Association of Cured Meats Masters in Modena (found by Mr. Bortolamasi, creator of the event), in cooperation with voluntary associations and the local Municipality.
